The extensive training of our personnel is second only to the quality of our employees. The process of training is multi-layered; new hires must complete one step before being certified to move on to the next.

In-Office Training: Training begins with the Premier Security Services New Hire Handbook and extended discussion of uniform guidelines during employment processing. This is followed by Basic Security Video Training Programs that cover human resources issues, public relations, communication techniques, fire prevention, safety procedures and reporting policies. Account Managers give an in-depth overview of facility requirements before the trainee sets foot onto the site for training.

Logbook and Report Writing: Security Services fulfill a variety of needs within a facility and record keeping is one of the key elements. Keeping this in mind, Premier highlights the importance of logbook and report writing in a special training seminar for new hires. Trainees are taught how to keep a pristine, accurate logbook and which events are to be recorded. They are also educated on the art of writing an Incident Report, which insures that all Premier Officers are able to produce a cohesive, clear account of any incident that should occur.

Training Manual: Trainees will be required to familiarize themselves with a facility Training Manual, which will encompass every particular of the facility in relation to security. At the conclusion of training, the individual will be required to complete a written exam, the passing of which will be a condition of employment at the site.

Hours of On-Site Training: Our on-site training includes a walk-through of the property, introduction of all personnel to your management team and cross training at several posts. Cross training provides our Officers with a broader understanding of your organization’s security needs and practices as well as a knowledge of equipment location on the property.

Advance Practical Training: Officers are trained by Site Inspectors in a variety of topics including conflict resolution, internal communications, report writing, bomb threat procedures, patrol techniques, and specific emergency procedures for the facility.

CPR Certification: As an optional training program, new employees may be sent to the Red Cross facility nearest to their home in order to obtain Certification in CPR and AED. Certifications for active employees will be renewed every year.

Fire Safety Training Course: Security Officers must pass a course on fire safety, detection while on patrol, hazardous materials and the prevention of fires.

Post Certification: Each Security Officer must be certified by a Field Supervisor before commencing his or her post assignment. Certification is awarded following completion of training and thorough comprehension of the job site manual.

Special Topic Training: Current training courses include the Anti-Terrorism Awareness Course by the Community Anti-Terrorism Training Institute and Certification in Customer Service and Communication Skills through William Paterson University in conjunction with the New Jersey Department of Labor.
